Never get up to change another CD again

Several ways to sort and categorize your CDs
Cons
This thing is HUGE!!!!!
Recommended it?
Yes
When I was in college, I was in awe over the Sony 100 CD changer. However, I was a poor college boy at the time and was more worried about raising enough money to party on the weekend than I was springing a few hundred dollars on a CD player. Over the years, I looked at the Sony 200 and then the 300 changer. When I recently laid my eyes on the 400 changer, I knew I could wait no longer and had to have it. I haven't regretted it yet.
As you would expect from a Sony product, this CD player sounds great. Take time to read the manual that comes with the player because this baby has enough bells and whistles to make any gadget freak salivate.
- 32 track "Hit List", 32 track programming
- 8 group files, Artist File (to group CDs by artist name), Delete Bank (the player allows you to flag CD tracks to never play)
- the ability to connect up a PS/2-compatible PC keyboard to enter all the titles of all your disks (You are a patient soul if you attempt to enter all 400 CD titles without the use of the keyboard.)
- Sony Control A1-II, which allows you to connect and control an additional CD changer if you need to store more than 400 CDs (I'm jealous)
- optical digital output to connect to an MD player
- shuffle through the songs on 1 CD, a group, an Artist File, or all 400 CDs
- the ability to connect an additional changer for storage of 800 disks
After connecting the changer up to my Sony receiver (http://www.epinions.com/elec-review-554C-162D32EF-3A11EECF-prod2), I found that I could download all the CD titles to the receiver's remote control. This was a huge convenience, because I can now scan through an alphabetical list of CDs on the remote and quickly find the one I'm looking for.
I will note that it does take about 10 seconds for the changer to switch CDs. This may be an issue for some people who are looking for uninterrupted music. In that case, I would recommend buying an additional changer and connecting it to this one. You will then have the ability to fade between the two players.
The only downside to this player is its huge size. The dimensions are 17" x 7-1/2" x 21-1/8", so I highly recommend measuring your component rack or entertainment center to make sure it will fit. Other than the size, the only other problem you will have is figuring out what to do with all the CD liner notes and empty jewel cases.
