In my never ending quest for a decent stereo system I recently splurged and bought the CDP-CX53. I wasn't dissappointed at all. I paid $160 for it and for the money it is awesome.
PLAYBACK OPTIONS
The playback options seem to never end. Shuffle and repeat play are both included along with programing. There are five blocks so you can group your music together (given each block only holds 10 cd's) then you can shuffle only that block or repeat it. You can choose to shuffle only one disc, all discs or one particular block. Likewise you can repeat one song one, one disc, one block, all discs, or one program setup. You can program up to 32 songs from all the discs so you only listen to the songs you want to.
EASE OF OPERATION
This CD player is very easy to setup and use. I didn't even need to look at the manual until I wanted to know how to program it and that is the only thing I looked at the manual for. All the cables you need to set it up are included and there is a digital input for things like a mini disc player.
THE REMOTE
One of the things I made sure this CD player had was a full function remote. The remote does everything from turn on the cd player to fast forward through a song. It actually does more than the cd player itself. You can skip right to a certain disc and then hit one button for a specific song. You can choose which playback function you want to use and you can even program it with the remote.
OVERALL
This is a great CD player with a variety of options. It is quite versitile and for less than $200 I would recommend this to anyone.
