Might be a good buy for people with smooth vehicles.

Pros easy to use, reads cd-r and cd-rw, nice display
Cons skips frequently, takes some time to read some cds/tracks, may detach face accidentally
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  If you buy it for less than $100, I'm sure you will not regret buying this unit, otherwise, I don't recommend, especially if you drive on rough roads constantly.
Although my model is CDX-L450, it's basically the same as this one, except that it has a red display.

The first thing you'll notice in this CD player is its plate looking face. Since I painted my dash with silver spray, it matches perfectly my car's interior, and the red display looks ok. Sound is great, I can't complain that much about it, but the D-Bass feature was better in my previous CDX-C480 unit (Sony also). Controls are easy to use, and don't require reading the manual. Installation is easy as long as you know which cable goes where in your car. It has an useless feature for sending most of the sound either to the front left speaker or front right, but I have never used it because the sound coming form all speakers is way better.

I can play CD-R and CD-RWs but it takes some time to read some CDs.

The really bad thing about this unit is the anti-skipping mechanism. It will skip constantly on rough roads, something that never happens in my other unit (pioneer DEH-1450). For this lone reason, I want to buy another cd-player, and this is my second SONY Cd player that has this problem, so Sony is completely out of my list.

Anti-skip is so bad, that it kept skipping when my tires were not balanced and the car was shaking at speeds higher than 80 mph.

Faceplate use is simple, but it remains a little loose on the unit. Materials feel cheap, like it will break if it falls from 1 meter, unlike the pioneer's quality.
