The Bottom Line:
This was the first of its kind, with the Active Black Panel display, and with the sound technology, this is an excellent choice for any vehicle.
I purchased the Sony Xplod CDX-M610 about six months ago, when it first came out. I was extremely pleased with the power output since it produced 23 Watts RMS versus 19 in the previous model (CDX-M600). Also, the extra 2 Peak watts (52 versus 50 respectively) could easily be heard on any low frequency sound. The bass response is excellent, and the three level D-bass option is an excellent addition for any bass lover. The three color LCD display (when the unit is on, and closed) is quite distracting with its movement and eq curves. It looks really nice at night, even when it is open. There are plenty of menu options for sound, as well as display so you can tune your stereo to any sound you like. The expandability of this unit is un-ending. Many options from Sony can be easily added, including a CD changer, or even a television unit.
