The Bottom Line:
Great look, great sound, great buy
I've had this unit for about 3 years now and I still love it. In fact it was the only thing I took from my old vehicle over to my new vehicle. I can't live with anything else for a deck in my car. I got for the reason I love it so much, a button free clean outside look. I really enjoy the flat smooth outside look of the face with no obtrusive buttons, not to mention how much more space it gives for the screen. I used to use only the remote in my old car and hardly ever flipped down the face. Now, in my new car, I don't use the remote because I am so close to reaching the deck, so the face is flipped down all the time. Its great to have all of the buttons and functionality hidden, but still available when you want. Also, the little screen inside provides great use, especially when not using the remote to navigate. The looks are absolutely fantastic and I haven't seen a deck that I like better, visually, since.
The sound is also great. The EQ makes everything easy and you can adjust every parameter to very specific levels if desired. The DSO is a great feature too. In my old car I didn't use it, but it really elevates the soundstage well in my new car. I also primarily use it for MP3 disks, which are read fairly quickly and sound great.
I don't know why Sony stopped making these, but if you can get your hands on one you should take it because it's great and has long lasting durability. I plan to keep with every vehicle I get.
