Excellent buy
Pros
Sounds GREAT, looks GREAT (without being too flashy)
Cons
The face plate connection might be a little too fragile?
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you want a great MP3/CD player and you got the cash, go for it. It sounds excellent, looks great, and is simply a great buy.
I replaced my Pyle (of crap) MP3 player today with this beautiful machine, and I could not be happier. Wow. My system sounds at least 6 times as good as it did before. The bass, treble and mids are all perfectly clean. The only bad thing about the sound is that it's too powerful for my stock speakers in the front, so I have to divert almost all of the power to my rear speakers. I've got this unit pushing my Infinity Reference 6x9s, with the sub output going to my Orion 500W amp (pushing two Reference 12s.) I doubt that the sound quality could be improved (without better speakers). I can quickly and easily set the 7-band EQ to sound great with any style of music.
Random thoughts:
Skipping doesn't seem to be a problem at all.
It reads MP3s sooooo much quicker than my previous player.
The DSO feature works very well.
All of the controls are extremely easy to operate.
And the looks of course, are very very pretty. You can set the display to any of 7 colors; I prefer the green.
Currently, I don't have the dough for XM radio, so I can't reveal any useful information about that aspect of its functionality.
But just about everything else gets an A in my book. For 280 bucks (including shipping), I am VERY pleased.
