For about $300 I bought this system for my dorm room. I don't have very much space so I needed something that didn't hog the whole room. I really enjoy listening to music so I didn't hesistate to pay a little extra for a Sony. You know that a sony is going to give you quality and good sound. I have not had any problems so far and have had this system since May '00. The CD player plays crisp music and the radio reception is a step better then most. I think that for the money it is a good value.
