Clie T615 VS Palm M515
Pros
price, sound, graphics, resolution, good applications
Cons
thin stylist, small buttons, discontinued, non-replaceable battery, no wireless modem
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If sound, graphics and resolution are more important to you than tactile feel, then the Sony Clie is a good choice.
Compared to my T615C, the M515 has a better feel to it, but the T615C has better sound, graphics and resolution. The background and fonts on the M515 appear grainy compared to the T615C.
The buttons on the T615C are smaller, but they have scroll capabilities built into them. You press up to scroll up, down to go down.
The T615C also has a "jog" button that scrolls to items, then you push the button in when you want to select it. It also has a small "back" button underneath the "jog" button to return to the previous menu screen.
The T615C brightness setting is set with a sliding scale and can be turned off, but the M515 only has Off, Low and High backlight settings.
I wonder if part of the reason people complain about poor T615C battery life is because they leave it set on the highest brightness setting.
But the M515 was easier to read than the T615C when the backlighting is off.
Looking at the Sony web site, they had most accessories I would need and then some. They have a keyboard, photo memory stick to take pictures, MPEG player, car battery adapter, a battery adapter that uses 4 AA batteries to charge it, and a new thumboard.
A cheesy thing is that you get a one-year warranty only if you register the product with Sony.
