After using my SONY CLIE T615-C for a few months, I felt ready to place my opinion of it on epinions. This current model is an update to the Sony t610-c which had only 8MB RAM. The current model sports 16MB which for palm-based systems is close to the top. When I was looking for a PDA, I was basically looking for a palm-based PDA because in the medical software envrionment, palm PDA's seem to have a larger library of material (plus all of my colleagues had software to "beam" me in palm format). Since I have purchased it I have installed the usual software most physicians have on thiers-- epocrates, epocrates ID, Johns Hopkins Antibiotic guide etc...and these plus a few others took up about 7MB leaving me with around 5MB (after installing vindigo and avantgo and a few of the Sony add-on items from the install disk...)All in all I find it a VERY handy tool in my day-to-day rounds and it has excellent battery life especially compared to my pocket PC based friends..The only things I find as short comings are the screen size which is small compared to some the actual palm offerings (but I feel the screen resolution makes up for this) and the wacky SONY hand-held site which can be sometimes difficult to get what and where you want to go. As for others who have complained about third-party items such as keyboards I have not had that problem. The only item I have purchased for mine was a clear plastic screen protector (which was recommended by a friend who damaged his screen with repetitive stylus strokes...)Here in Lafayette, Louisiana our Best Buy and Circuit City sell detachable keyboards for around $80 (in fact they demonstrated the TARGUS keyboard to me on my PDA while I was in the store. I'm sure these will trickle down to smaller communities like New York in the near future.(just kidding!)
