CLIE T615 - Excellent Palm Value for your Money with Compromises

byyusakugo May 11, 2002

Pros 16 MB RAM, Hi-Res Color Screen, Thin, Memory Stick Expansion, Jog Dial, Stylish
Cons Build Quality Suspect, Small Buttons, Lack of Accessories, Slight Color Mismatching
Recommended it? Yes

I didn't intend to buy a new Palm handheld... but I got the T615c in Royal Blue for a ridiculous price of $220! Otherwise, I wouldn't have upgraded from my m505... but in many ways, I'm glad I did with a few caveats.

The Short Take!

Overall, I do recommend the Sony T615c for the... Read full review »

The New "Best PDA for Business" (For Now) UPDATED 7/25/02

Pros Great color screen; thin aluminum case; light weight; long battery life; good software...
Cons Buttons hard to operate, needs a hard cover.
Recommended it? Yes

The Sony Clie PEG-T615C takes over from Sony's PEG-N610C as the best PDA for business, but not without some caveats.

The T615C is an improvement on the N610C in several respects. First, the form factor is even smaller and lighter. The T615C has a sleek aluminum case with beveled edges; it... Read full review »

Not quite the perfect Palm, but it's as close as I've found!

Pros Sexy aluminum body; high-res color screen; 16MB RAM; low cost; all-in-one charger/HotSync...
Cons The buttons suck; powers on accidentally; no built-in Mac compatibility
Recommended it? Yes

The world of PDAs is getting crowded; not only do users have to decide whether to go with the PalmOS or a Windows based PDA, but they have to struggle with the choice of Clies vs. Palms vs. Handsprings and whether they really want a built in phone or camera or MP3 player... It's enough to drive a... Read full review »

Overall hard to beat

Pros weight, clarity of the screen, thin
Cons screen size, confusing support site
Recommended it? Yes

After using my SONY CLIE T615-C for a few months, I felt ready to place my opinion of it on epinions. This current model is an update to the Sony t610-c which had only 8MB RAM. The current model sports 16MB which for palm-based systems is close to the top. When I was looking for a PDA, I was... Read full review »

Clie PEG-T615c, A Great Palm OS Color Handheld by Sony.

Pros High Resolution, Bright Colors, Screen, Thin and Light, Sleek, jog dial.
Cons Small Buttons, Memory Stick Media, USB only, 3rd party software required for Mac.
Recommended it? Yes

For anyone that has ever tried to buy a handheld for multimedia purposes, especially when they're looking for a color handheld, many of the past Palm based color handhelds are flawed, because of the screen. The problem with the screen on the recently discontinued Palm m505 is that the screen is too... Read full review »

Pros Slim. Hi-res, color screen. Useful applications. Memory stick.
Cons No wireless internet. Expensive replacement stylus. Needs a better case. Memory stick.
Recommended it? Yes

Three years ago I was on the market looking for a handheld. My hectic college schedule began to require more than just Post-It notes and reminders written on the back of my hand. So I started to shop around and do a lot of Internet research. My choices were whittled down to the Sony Clie PEG-T615c... Read full review »

I am writing this review after breaking my Sony CLIE.. So it is not a hypothetical situation.

Let me first start by saying that I expect Sony to be held to a higher standard due to the immensely impressive array of high quality products that they have delivered over the years. So when I... Read full review »

My Sony CLIE PEG-T615C Handheld

Pros Color screen, Lots of apps, Memory stick works with other Sony devices
Cons Graffiti software sucks, can't store email on memory stick
Recommended it? Yes

I like my Clie, but the Palm Graffiti software sucks. Instead of recognizing my handwriting, I have to learn how to write using the Graffiti handwriting system. Why do I want to learn how to write again? The Apple Newton had handwriting recognition capability 5 to 10 years ago. It was just plain... Read full review »

Clie T615 VS Palm M515

byel_guapo Aug 30, 2002

Pros price, sound, graphics, resolution, good applications
Cons thin stylist, small buttons, discontinued, non-replaceable battery, no wireless modem
Recommended it? Yes

Compared to my T615C, the M515 has a better feel to it, but the T615C has better sound, graphics and resolution. The background and fonts on the M515 appear grainy compared to the T615C.

The buttons on the T615C are smaller, but they have scroll capabilities built into them. You press up... Read full review »

Sony Clie 615C

Pros ease of use, installed applications, vibrant color, included memory, simplicity
Cons ineffective cover for the PDA
Recommended it? Yes

When searching for a PDA, I was initially drawn to the standard Palm Pilot, but after reading reviews of others and speaking with friends that had one - I elected to look at the Sony Clie. This is not a knock on Palm - as the Clie uses the Palm OS. Rather it was more of a feeling that, for the... Read full review »
