Sony Clie 615C

Pros ease of use, installed applications, vibrant color, included memory, simplicity
Cons ineffective cover for the PDA
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Excellent value! More memory than the average business person needs and all the toys to boot!
When searching for a PDA, I was initially drawn to the standard Palm Pilot, but after reading reviews of others and speaking with friends that had one - I elected to look at the Sony Clie. This is not a knock on Palm - as the Clie uses the Palm OS. Rather it was more of a feeling that, for the money, Sony was the better product - and I was right.

The first thing I noticed with the Clie is there was no boot up - when you turned it on - you were on right where you left off! Also with the 615C I was shocked at the vibrant color quality and clarity provided! This made the experience of controlling my life from the palm of my hand much more enjoyable. The installed software gives you the basics of what you need to manage your time efficiently - Prioritized to-do list with instant access to a calendar...date book, address listing with business card creator...memo pad among others. One very nice thing is the peripheral software that Sony Provides allowing you to take your MS documents with you. Oh yeah - Hot Synch and installation of software is a breeze!

In my Clie experience I only found three MINOR things I considered an issue - almost so minor I don't want to mention them, but I want potential buyers to know. First, getting the Clie to beam is confusing. It is not referenced in the operation material that you have to perform a soft boot once you have turned Beam on. Second, there is no business tracking/expense software provided even as a demo. I had to go looking for this and had to pay extra for it. Third, drain on the battery is quick, but I did expect this given the tax on the battery running color.

Overall - I love it and wouldn't trade it! Our IT guy found out I had one and came in salivating!
