Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T1 ? Sleek, Small, Sexy? Sounds Like a James Bond Gadget

byvadimio Jul 7, 2004

Pros 5.1 megapixels, extremely small size, sleek, fast shutter lag, gorgeous screen, great...
Cons lack of a tripod mount, weak flash

The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T1 is one of those digital cameras that captures your eye right away due to its looks and size, charms you with its features and, unless the price is too high, becomes your very own property. I was one of those that began using digital cameras a lot later than most people,... Read full review »

DSC-T1 is Sony's Winning Hand... Or Is It Just a Bluff?

Pros Excellent daytime and moderate lighting performance, size, LCD screen, overall design
Cons Price, Memory Card Price, Red Eye Problems, What's a Tripod
Recommended it? No

Sony has entered the high end subcompact market with an apparent bang... the DSC-T1 5.0 MegaPixel monster. With dimensions that would make most technogeeks drool and a seemingly good performance when capturing those Kodak moments. However, as good as the surface features look, there are several... Pros Excellent picture quality in good light, resolution, large LCD, size
Cons Weak flash, no tripod mount, no RAW mode, red-eye, price, lack of manual control
Recommended it? Yes

The Sony DSC-T1 looks hi-tech and cool. And it is hi-tech, indeed. Featuring very compact dimensions, a 5-Megapixel resolution, a big 2.5-inch high-resolution (211,000-pixel) LCD and a compact 3x zoom by Carl Zeiss, it is a marvel of modern technology. But is it perfect? Not quite...

I've wanted a digital pocket camera for quite a while but this is the first one that has had acceptable quality in a size that can realistically fit in a pocket. Sony really hit the mark with the size of this camera, tho I wish they hadn't put that big "lens cover" on there. An internal "slider"... Read full review »

Foreword: I was just given one of these toys. I know nowadays you may probably find something better, but, being not a great "fanatic", I really came to enjoy it, discovering the various potentialities and getting more and more involved into it!!!...

I purchased the T-1 about a month ago and have been using it for recreational purposes.

Overall, the camera has good form factor and takes decent pics. I'm satisfied with the deal that I got (e.g. purchased through my.sony.com along w/ the $45 rebate making the overall purchase around... Read full review »

Pros Battery life. Portability. Absolutely wonderful pictures in good lighting!
Cons Poor flash. Lots of red-eye.

I bought this camera for my wife after she fell in love with her brother's wife's brother's small camera that could fit into an empty Altoids box. I'm not going to give much details on that camera, just that it was small.

So I buy the DSC-T1 for my wife on a price drop that, unbeknownst... Read full review »

Just wanted to give a quick heads up on the new digital camera from Sony – CyberShot DSC-T1. Some technical reviews are already out on the Net (more about them later), so I would try to focus mostly on how does this tiny piece of gadgetry perform in real life.

First of all – the thing is... Read full review »

Pros size, optics, ergonomics
Cons price, menus, lens vulnerability, zoom

Saw a colleague with this little (and little is the operative word here) jewel and immediately fell in love. I was replacing a Nikon CoolPix 990, and wanted a few more megapixels, and also something small to deal with. Sony is a reliable producer. The optics were very good. The price was a bit up...
