A great camera for parties and events!

Pros Quick response time, lightweight, easily navigable menus, good photos
Cons Absurdly loud "tiger electronics" type beeping noises accompany every button press.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I'd recommend this especially for those who want an easy camera to take to events or for everyday candid shots around the house.
I wanted a compact camera to take around with me to conventions, concerts and parties. After reviewing dozens of similar models I settled on this one and I am very happy with it so far. (I've had it for a few months as of this reveiw)
this camera is light weight with a nice body. The viewing window is large and clear. A feature I like in particular is how the settings are displayed- as you spin the dial on top to change the settings, the view window shows you what setting you're on, the icon for that setting, and describes what situation that setting is best for. ie: "shoot in low light with no flash reducing blur" or "shoot sharp foreground with soft background" etc. What I especially like though is the camera's response speed. When you turn it on it's ready to shoot immediately. You can also take several pictures one right after the next without waiting for it to "think". On that note, it also has a "burst" feature, where with one click it will take three shots in rapid succession. Great for action shots. The menus in this camera were also really easy to navigate and I had no trouble finding my way around the menus even without reading the guide book. You can change the dpi / image quality settings also, which will allow you to adjust the amount of pics the built in memory will store , though it also takes a Memory Stick Pro Duo - a nice pro if you have a psp, then you probably already have a few of these around. It also means I can pop my camera memory card out and into the psp to save images, rather than usb uploading them. The video quality on this camera is OK, good for simple things, but not what I would call professional quality. I shot decent video from about 30 feet away but I don't think I'd try to go any farther than that.
All in all I think this is a great camera. It was priced right for what you get. It's quick and easy to use, takes great shots, and is generally convenient.
