Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W170 Digital Camera

I purchased Sony Cybershot basically because of its name.  I'm a big believer in the Sony name and the quality I usually experience with Sony electronics.  However, this camera is an exception.  It has an amazing list of features, which is handy, but the features are not what's important to me.  GREAT pictures is what wins in my book.  Does it take great pictures??  Not really.  I previously owned a Fuji Digital and these sony pics PALE in comparison.  I see most writers have replaced sony with sony, thus the high marks.  This can be attributed to the fact that they didn't have the Fuji film experience that I did.  The only thing the sony has that Fuji didn't was battery life.  Perhaps that's because it doesn't take great pics.  It has a laundry list of features that I never use.  I would gladly exchange the list of features for better quality photos.  It has a good shutter speed which is a positive attribute, but is that what constitutes the sacrifice in quality?  I guess it probably does impact photo quality.  I would be disappointed if I had taken this camera to Niagra Falls a few years back.  I'm thrilled I still had my fuji at that time.  The only reason I replaced it is because I dropped it and it stopped working.  Now I'm looking to replace this little compact bit of uselessness with a Fuji so I can get my quality back.  I look back on the four year old's birthday party in the summer and cringe because the photos turned out so awful.  Very inconsistent with color and contrast.  It just stinks when it comes down to producing.
