Sony's D-CJ506CK rules!
Pros
red backlight, g-protection, long battery life, includes car kit
Cons
no pause button, no radio, doesn't use NiMH rechargable batteries like the iRiver iMP-350
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
will definately satisfy you the only better mp3cdp is the iRiver iMP-350/400 but it costs more and doesn't come with a car kit
While this CD/MP3 player isn't contending to be the best CD player, it certainly is a very good one. The first thing that caught my attention was the red backlight, I only found it because I was bored and searching for products with red backlights. I read about the product and absolutely needed it to have a car DC power adapter. I was waiting for the iRiver iMP-400 to come out in the US, but after a few months I grew tired. I could have bought the iRiver iMP-350 for about $130 at the time plus $30 for the car kit, but I figured that I might as well get the improved iMP-400 which still hasn't been released in the US yet! Around this time, my old CD player broke and I was stuck listening to the radio. The radio stations in my area aren't particularly good as I don't live near any major cities. I thought about just going out and buying a cheap CD/MP3 player and just wait until the iMP-400 came out but then I realized I would be spending much more money altogether and probably not be any more satisfied. So I just went out and bought this CD/MP3 player at Bestbuy and got the extended warranty on it because I plan on having it, and using it for a long time. I have recently purchased a CD/MP3 deck for my car, but I'll still be using this CD player when I'm not in my car.
This is a very good mid-priced CD/MP3 player. It has everything that you need (except a pause button), and would likely satisfy any audiophile. Even though it only uses normal batteries, you get up to 24 hours on a pair of AAs so you really can't complain.
