The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this player to anybody who doesn't want to spend alot of money but wants a nice basic player.
Intro... I bought this video at...
I bought this CD Player online for 49.99. I figured out i couldn't loose out because that is basically the cheapest you can buy a cd player for and it IS a Sony. it came to around $60 after tax and shipping. So far I have been very happy with this CD player, especially for the price.

Looks... Not the best, but pretty nice
This player although not the best looking is Ok. It has a silver metaliic finish. The buttons are also grey. Although not the newest looking it is sleek looking. I also like the way the bolume and fastfoward/ rewind buttons are fashioned

Durability... Very Durable For the price.
On the inside this system has been very durable as well as on the outside. The metallic got a few scratches on the lid from rubbing against some coins but it doesn't really bother me. It wasn't exactly a "high-end" player!

Skipping... Doesn't skip easily.
Compared to some CD platers sold today this player doesn't have much anti-skip protection. Todays skip protection is usually 40 seconds long. This one is only around 20 seconds. Electronic Skip Protection (ESP) works fine but I noticed that the battery life decreases to around 15 hours with the skip protection on.

Battery Life... 15 - 20 Hours of playback
So far the battery life with two AA batteries without ESP on is around 20 Hours. When I puy the ESP on the battery life was arouind 15 hours. I recommend using rechargable AA batteries. They last longer and are rechargable.

My Epinion... Good first player.
So far I have not been disappointed nor impressed with the Sony D-E200. It is a basic player but it is still durable. I think it a good first player for someone because it is very basic, cheap, & easy to use. It is also durable but it is not a runners CD player because it doesn't have enough skip protection. I would recommend this player to anybody who doesn't want to spend alot of money but wants a nice basic player.
