The Bottom Line:  If you want a cheap player, go buy it, but don't expect much...
Last May, I needed a CD player. My player of 4 years had died. Since my company had went bankrupt I decided to go with a company that I knew about, Sony. I was under the assumption that if I just bought a CD player with the right name slapped on it, I would do well. HA! The joke really was on me. Let's get to the pros first. The ESP2 is wonderful, the only time this player has skipped (and it was only once) was when we nearly got into a wreck on I-75. Once I dropped it and didn't even know it! The audio quality is great whether you have the volume set at 3 (AVLS setting) or 9 (the highest). The player is very basic with simple functions you need, repeat, bass, hold, one track, repeat CD, and shuffle. It is great for long and even short (1 hour) trips. It comes with the adaptor to hook into the cigarette lighter, spiral tube (to keep the cord together), and the car connecting kit. I have yet to use the car connecting kit so I can't speak on the pros or cons. Now, the cons. The buttons dirty and fade quickly. Also after having it a year I am having technical problems. When I press one button it may perform the function of another button. Everytime you change CD's you have to adjust the volume. My old CD (Which I bought in 96!!!) didn't even have to do that. The bass is terrible in my opinion! So if that is a big deal, skip this Discman. Overall for $60 it is a good CD player, but I wish I would have shelled out more $ and gotten a better one.
