If you are looking for functionality and practicality in a portable CD player, look no further. The Sony D-E401 is one of the best CD players out there for it's price. The manufacturer's list price is $139.95. However, the bright shopper will realize that he or she can by this magnificent sound machine for around $80 at your local Walmart which is good news for you folks in Iowa. For you that live in Manhattan, well it may be worth your while to get that plane ticket to Des Moines to pick up this little baby. Anyways, I digress. The features that make this CD player a bundle of joy include the ESP2 feature which records the 20 sec ahead of what you are listening too so that if a skip occurs, it will continue playing from memory. It's a great feature, especially if you are walking around Manhattan listening to your favorite CDs. And to save battery power, you can turn the ESP off when listening in your apartment. It's a great device to drown out the noise made by your obnoxious roommates.
The CD player also has 3 levels of bass to enhance your music experience. The sound quality is superb, but try not to bust your eardrums. The headphones that come with it are not the greatest, but you can always buy a nice set, and the CD player has remote control capability with the proper set of headphones. Also I was able to send in for a free CD holder to carry and protect the CD player. So if you're looking to buy a great portable CD player and a very reasonable price, you're looking for the Sony D-E401. The only drawback may be flying to Iowa.
