The Cool D-EG7
Pros
Stylish, Durable, Superior Sound
Cons
Bulky, No lights
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I 100% recommend this cool, durable discman for hip music lovers on the go.
After many days of saving money, I finally got to buy my own Sony D-EG7 discman! And for me, the $141 investment sure was a good, satisfying one!
After opening the package, the sight of the D-EG7 got me excited to listen to some professional music. The buttons are conveniently located, and so is the "open" button which you push to open the lid. The rubber "bumpers" make the discman look so rugged yet cool, giving you that good, satisfying feeling that this product is going to last forever!
The sound quality? I don't need to say more. It's PERFECT. Well, of course since it's only a discman, do not expect to hear wall-thumping bass music and such. If you want that, buy a music component system. But for music lovers on the go... this D-EG7 is the ultimate! Superior sound quality (considering the fact that the D-EG7 is equipped with an awesome street-style headphone), cool looks, and super durability are just a few features to be excited about. And speaking about features, my favorite one is the "groove" sound option. There are three options to choose from: Normal, MegaBass, and Groove. Groove gives you the most satisfying crystal-clear music with excellent bass that you could expect from a portable player. MegaBass is recommended if you want excellent sound but are concerned about battery life conservation, and normal if your ears have had enough.
The ESP2 feature also works great, and mind you, the D-EG7 player is so tough, I do not even have to use the ESP2. Walking or riding a vehicle does not make the D-EG7 skip, and I've tried dropping and bumping the player, still no skip (even with the ESP2 off). Only when I shook it like crazy did it finally skip, and turning on the ESP2 DID lessen the skip when I shook it again.
To me, there is NO problem with this player, except that when compared to other portable CD players, the D-EG7 might look a bit "bulky". BUT, its super-cool design and ruggedness compensates for that. Overall, I 100% DO RECOMMEND this for music lovers on the go who like to look cool, hip, yet cares for the durability of their players.
Some quick facts:
1. The Sony D-EG7 comes in a package.
2. The package contains the following:
A pair of Sony rechargeable batteries w/ case
An AC Adaptor/Charger w/ wall outlet
Street Style Headphones
A User Manual
Cool carrying strap
3. The rechargeable batteries last for about 3-4 hours using the Groove function. However, Alkaline batteries (I use Duracel) last much longer, about 10 - 14 hours. Note that using the Groove and ESP functions will consume the battery quicker.
