World?s smallest, lightest, and thinnest Portable CD Walkman? Player

Pros Long battery life, rechargeable batteries, slim design, remote
Cons Is easily susceptible to skipping due to slimness of the player, cost
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Buy it. It not only looks cool, but it completely functional and a solid player.
I have been a loyal Sony Walkman/Discman customer for five years, and although this is my third 'man' in 5 years, I have always been impressed with the features Sony offers compared to its competitors, which keeps me coming back.

I have had the D-EJ1000 for about a year, due to needing to find a replacement after my previous player was stolen. At the time I wanted something inexpensive, although after researching other models (even by Sony) I was not ready to compromise the cost for the lack of features.

I bought it from etronics.com for $159.99 (before shipping). I also purchased the 3 year parts and labor warranty, not because Sony's products aren't reliable and durable, but because my player gets a lot of use.

BATTERY LIFE
The player itself is a little less than a half-inch thick. The two flat Ni-MH rechargeable batteries fit nicely into the inside of the player. What I have always loved about Sony is the fact that the batteries are rechargeable within the unit, meaning all I have to do is a plug it into the supplied AC adaptor and voila! With this unit you have the option of charging in a stand ("charge and go"), which I have found extremely convenient. The player charges FAST. I have been completely out of battery life, plugged it in to charge for 30 minutes to an hour, and had it almost if not completely charged. As for the battery life itself Sony boasts 115 hours of continuous playback (rechargeable batteries external battery case). Battery life has NEVER been a problem for me. I don't have time to worry about charging my player everyday, and with Sony I don't. I use it for 5-6 hours each day and can go easily two weeks without charging it.

DURABILITY
I have used this player everyday for the past year, and found it to be very durable. I throw it into my bookbag or my tote and go. It has even been dropped a few times (carpet), and still works. Though I have found it to be durable, because of the slim design of the unit, it is more susceptible to skipping than previous models. You have to remember that there isn't much between the top of the player and the CD, so hard tapping or pressure against the top, will cause it to skip. Has this happened to me? Yes. Has it been a major problem? No.

REMOTE
I love the remote. As I walk around the city I often see people with their clunky players in hand, but with this player you don't have to. The remote fits conveniently into your hand or can be clipped onto something (which I do). With the flick of the thumb I can change tracks and adjust the volume. The display is backlit and text enabled. Opposed to another viewer, I have found the remote to be very durable. The only con to the remote is that if you lose it or it breaks, you lose access to a display, along with a lot of other features (playback modes, bass adjustment, and battery life meter).

MODES
You can play a single track, shuffle the tracks, program the specific order of the tracks, and repeat a track.

SOUND
I have found the sound to be extremely clear. Skipping rarely occurs, even on badly scratched CD's. Has digital MEGA BASS.

LINE OUT
One of the requirements that the CD player have when I bought it was that it has line out capabilities. In the past I have used my player combined with the Sony Car Kit, and still wanted to have the option.

I LOVE THE CD PLAYER and would recommend it to anyone.
