I purchased the Sony D-EJ611 player for our daughter for Christmas. The player is very well constructed (though not as well built as my first Sony Discman that I bought 10 years ago). The one thing that definitely impresses me is the battery life - unreal! My first Sony Discman lasted 4 hours on a single charge - that's right a special rechargeable battery pack that weight a quarter of a pound (didn't take any other type of battery)! This thing takes two "AA" batteries and lasts over 30 hours!!! We've come quite a ways.

The skip protection is amazing too. My Sony Discman skipped if I dropped a pen on top of the case. This one doesn't skip unless you bang it while it's upside-down (it doesn't like that very much). Other than that, it works beautifully, never skips, and looks great too. The case is a metallic pastel purple looking color - perfect for a teenage daughter, but maybe a little too "whimpy" for some guys.

The headset is very comfortable and the features are the standard ones you'd expect - programmability and simple navigation controls. The size of the player is impressive - very small, about the size in diameter of a CD itself. It also offers a nice "button lock" feature to prevent unwanted disc navigation or interruption if you accidentally hit one of the buttons.

Another good product from Sony, highly recommended.
