The Bottom Line:
An Excellent player, worth any price. Good for both the average consumer and the professional DJ.
I received this CD Player as a gift on July 19, 1999. That was 3 and a half years ago, and I must say the Player has served me extremely well. Theoretically, it has no problems, all is perfect. However, lately, durability has become a problem. In the last year some problems have developed. For one, the CD Player does not sense that you open the case. As a result, it does not re-read the TOC (Table of Contents) section of the Disc. The TOC contains information on the total playing time and number of tracks. So, say the last CD you play has 2 tracks - the CD player will stop the next time you play any CD at the 2d track, even if it has 196 tracks. Also, this means it will still start where you last stopped, which can raise problems if that spot doesn't exist. Let me explain. The CD Player automatically starts where you left off when you press the stop button - another great feature. But, if there is no 'Track 11, 8:45' on the new CD you just put in but the CD Player doesn't see, it flips out. You have to take out the batteries for it to read the TOC.
I need to replace this CD Player, now that the price has dropped I may purchase the same one. Great portability, and many connections. I have used this Player and abominable conditions - extreme cold, extreme heat, throwing on the floor, it's been in my backpack for years, tons of abuse.
