Sony D-EJ715 Personal CD Player
Pros
Very portable
Cons
None
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
This is a good player for an active person.
This is a cheaper unit but it makes up for it in performance and durability. I have dropped this on concrete and it did not break or even skip the CD so for me this is a very big plus for this.
Sound Quality
Okay, let's face it with a bad set of headphones the quality of the player won't matter at all. I have used both good and bad headphones but the quality of the sound this produces is very good overall. If you have better speakers than the sound from this would be very good also.
Sony G Protection
This is a great innovation from Sony - but then again isn't Sony just a great company overall for their sound products. This means that your CD's will not skip and this makes it very portable also and great for an active person.
Battery Life
This is always a very important thing to talk about when discussing something that requires batteries (and for things that are portable it's important). For this one I have had the batteries last for 5 hours of constant play which is very important.
Honestly, I don't have this player anyway - I have no idea where it went even and I miss that part of it because the newer ones I have do not last that long at all.
Features
There are many features that come with this, some that I use to use and some that I would never have used but where nice to have in case they were needed. In fact this comes with a remote (I even commented on another review of this nature that it was strange to come with a remote. I lost this pretty fast because it was small and I would never have used this anyway. Guess remotes come with everything.)
Program Play
With this you are able to program in what songs you want to play on a CD and in what order you would like to play them in. This is always handy so you can skip those songs that you don't really like.
Loop Play and Full CD Repeat
You can play songs over and over and in whatever order you want. This system has so many things that are programable that it will make you insane but it is easy to use at the same time. With this feature you can play a whole CD over and over again.
Single Track Repeat
If you like one song more than all of the other songs on the CD then you can play one song over and over - or as many times as you can handle the same song over and over.
Program Memory
This is also a feature that you will want to look for in a portable player. For this one you can have up to 64 programs at one time - so this is very handy.
Rechargeable
Yes, you can also recharge this and the battery will last longer for you.
Storage
Okay this is a negative but it's only a CD player so you can't expect it to do everything. No, you can't store your music on here and play it later. You do have to have the CD loaded in to play it.
Loading Your CD's
You place you CD's at the top of this one - or if you have it on you then you will be placing the CD's in on the side that is not facing you. It opens very easily, but I never had any problems with it coming open without me wanting it to.
HeadPhone Jack
This does have a standard headphone jack and I have also used some smaller speakers that had a jack in it also - the ones that you use for your computer will work as well if you want to use it in your house without headphones. Although usually I will always have headphones on anyway just so I don't annoy everyone around me.
Weight and Dimensions
This is a very small unit and this is a plus for it. It weighs less than a pound (actually .41 pounds according to the packaging at least). The system is almost 5 inches square and about an inch deep. So as you can see this is a very small unit and one that you won't have problems carrying with you.
Carrying Case
Okay this is a little feable and I can't say that I would use this but it was a nice idea for them to include this with the player.
Conclusion
This is a very nice small player and is very portable. It does not skip and was very reliable until it was lost which is obviously no fault of the player. If I ever find it again then I will be very happy about that.
