Sony hit the mark with this one

Pros 76 hour battery life; skip-free; sleek, slim design.
Cons poor headphones and bass; external battery pack is poor design
Recommended it? Yes
I bought this cd player because my friend broke my previous player. Both were the same price, so it seemed like a good choice. It caught my eye with its sleek, thin design and its remote control. I like how both the player and the remote have a backlit display. Also, it seems like a very sturdy unit (which is good if you use the player for active use). It has an aluminum top and seems well built. I think its two best features is the G-Protection and the long battery life. G-Protection supposedly offers skip free play; you can jog, bike, etc, and it should not skip. I have tried all this and it does not skip! My previous cd player would not even let me put it in my pocket without skipping. The D-EJ815 also offers up to 76 hours of battery life. While this is a great feature, it is not very practical. To reap the benefits of long battery life, you have to hook up and external battery pack which hangs loosely on a cord. So you have to use 4 batteries, and you cannot really go walking, jogging, or biking with it. It is good, however, if you are using it in the car and you don't have and ac adapter for the car.
My only real complaint is the bad headphones that come with the unit. they come with these small, weak headphones that cannot handle the bass. I had to buy new headphones that could handle bass really well only to find out the bass on the walkman is not all that good. My old cd player (a '97 kenwood) had far better bass and came with very good headphones.
All in all, this is a very well built cd player. However, for the money, Sony should have put in better headphones and better bass.
