For sound quality a definite purchase. However, should you want the backlight in the remote I would buy the higher model.
I did a lot of research when I was looking for a CD player. My research on this CD player was worth it. This CD player has great crisp sound and the remote is great, except there is no backlight feature. I would recommend this to all who are looking for a "basic" CD player. There are some functions on the remote that are pretty standard such as repeat play, repeat song and programming of songs. Another cool feature is the text display, if your CD has the text feature (most of the new CDs I have do not have this feature). I didn't want anything fancy and was pretty much looking for sound quality and I've found it.
