Best Portable CD-Player Ever Made!
Pros
Stylish, thin, sound, ear phones, battery life, cool remote, optical line out, Lots more...
Cons
Can't think of any!
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I extremely recommend this CD-Player to anyone that have the money to buy it. It is just GREAT!
I would like to talk first about the headphone. The other reviewers think it is very poor quality and it probably is by the way it looks. But I brought this CD-Player in Hong Kong, where headphones are rarely used. So my CD-Player came with ear plugs, which I think is excellent in quality. As far as I know, everything else is exactly the same as the ones sold in the US.
I brought this CD-Player in Hong Kong for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it! It is just the best CD-Player anyone can buy! I'll start with the good things and then talk about the bad things about this CD-Player.
+++++++++++++++WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT+++++++++++++++
1- COOL DESIGN, STYLISH, VERY VERY THIN.
It is so cool, so stylish, and so thin that I just had to buy it when I first saw it at an electronic store! The cover is made of a magnesium die casting and feels very tough comparing to the regular plastic cover. The entire CD-Player is a blue-silver color. I took it to school for about a week and everyone thinks it is cool! This CD-Player is astonishingly thin! It is almost as thin as a regular AA-size battery! Now measure an AA-size battery with your CD-Player and you'll ask yourself "HOW CAN SONY MAKE SUCH THIN CD-PLAYER?"
2- BATTERY LIFE.
When I took a 15-1/2 hour nonstop flight (Read my review on Continental if you plan to fly with them to HK) back home to Newark from Hong Kong, I charged the batteries full and bought 2 extra AA-batteries for the external battery case (I'll explain later) just in case the rechargeable ones run out. I used the CD player most of the time after I got bored of watching the movies and programs. I would say that I used it for a total of about 8 hours before the batteries ran out. That is very long, considering that I was listening to Linkin Park and Japanese Rock at high volume. After that, I used the external battery case which is a thin, round, cylinder-shaped thing to put regular AA-size batteries when you forget your rechargeable batteries or if they ran out.I would also like the mention that the rechargeable batteries are cool. They too, are thin ,and it is about the size of 2 pieces of juicy fruit gum stacked together.
3- SOUND QUALITY.
It is excellent! The excellent ear phones plus the quality of the CD-Player makes it really sound like my house's BOSE speakers!
4- REMOTE CONTROL.
It is very easy to use and looks very cool. The back lit display makes it very easy to read. The remote is very user-friendly and fun to use! Just twist the end of the remote to start playing a CD, fast forward or rewind, skip a song or replay the one you just listened to. To change volume, just pull the jog until it clicks and twist up to make the volume louder or twist down to make it quieter! You can basically use every function in the CD player with one hand! Plus the fact that every function on the CD-Player can be controlled on the remote, I can keep the CD-Player in my backpack and never have to take it out when I go to school.
5- G-PROTECTION
If you are weird and love to have a CD-Player that skips even just by moving it, you'll hate that CD-Player! It is nearly impossible to make it skip! If you have ever driven to New York City from New Jersey and listen to your CD player there, it will probably skip a lot, at least for my old Panasonic CD-Player, but this one doesn't! It is amazing!
6- OPTICAL LINE-OUT
This is something that my old Panasonic CD-Player doesn't have. Now I can record an MD without using the computer! I just connect my MD-Player to my Sony CD-Player and boom, I can record an MD right there!
-----------------------WHAT I HATE ABOUT IT.--------------------------
Believe it or not, I have yet to find something I don't like about this CD-Player.
