The Bottom Line:
Built solidly, backed by Sony. Will be the last CD player you need for a long time.
I was disappointed when my last Sony walkman finally bit the dust. It had worked flawlessly for 4 years. So I decided to go with another Sony.
I knew this was the CD player I wanted when I first saw it. Not only does it have a CD-R and CD-RW compatible CD player, but AM, FM, TV, and weather bands. It also came with a remote.
First, a review of the CD player. I found that it can read discs that are slightly scratched, but moderate to severe scratches make the disc skip constantly. This is not a huge problem though. It has a great, crisp sound with variable bass levels. G-Protection keeps extra movement from making the disc skip. I bought this CD player primarily for running, and the extra tumbling hasn't made it skip yet.
The AM, FM, and TV bands all work great too. I find the reception to be very good, even in heavily wooded areas. The only thing that doesn't get any reception is the weather band, because I am no where near a station.
The remote is a great feature to have. You can put the CD player in a case, and not have to reach down inside to change the song, volume, etc. You can do it all from the remote control. You can even clip it to your shirt.
The headphones are decent. They give out a pretty loud volume, but for very loud volume you would need new headphones. The other bad part about the headphones is they have a very short cord, as it connects into the end of the remote. You can't really comfortably hook them up to other audio products, as the cord doesn't reach.
All in all, I would highly recommend this product.
