I would say even if it lacks MP3 playback it's still great!
I purchased this CD player a little while ago at Best Buy for $70. It is a nice little CD player that came with a remote control.
I have found the remote control to come in handy if you like to leave your CD player in your pocket or as your driving and you have the CD player connected to your car's tape deck.
I feel that it offers excellent sound quality. The weather band tuner has been rarely used in my CD player. However when I did put it to use it can be helpful. The TV tuner is a pretty nice feature when you wanna listen to the news but don't want the brightness of a TV.
The CD sound quality if it's not burned is great. Playing a burned CD sounds fine but playback of a actual CD is even better. The MEGA BASS is a useful feature it improves the sound quality greatly and doesn't distort the playback until too loud volumes. My previous model Sony if you switched on the MEGA BASS it would distort and this one does not which is good.
The price is sort of high since it lacks the capability of playing MP3s. However it is a Sony and Sony's prices are most often always high.
