The Bottom Line:
The best buy, i highly recommend it.
I own D-FJ61 for more than half a year now and i am so happy that i have it. Before the Sony i had the Philips CD player and it does not even come close to Sony. Sony outperformed my previous CD player in every category. Let me explain why.
PORTABILITY: Sony D-FJ61 has a very cool round shape and it is very comfortable to carry it in either your hand, your jacket, jeans, bag, etc. I prefer to always carry it my hand since it is also very light and small. I just like the feel of it in my hand and i would never put it anywhere else when i listen to it.
SOUND: Sound quality of the CD is just awesome and it plays very good with the Sony headphone that i've bought separately. The music plays loud and clear and you can also add some bass features, depending on what kind of music you listen to. The only problems with the sound occurs when you listen to the radio. Sometimes, but NOT always, the reception is poor and the sound gets all messed up, which ticks me off. Sometimes all you have to do is turn the CD player upside down to improve the reception quality, but it doesn't work out all the time. What i usually do is switch to a different radio station with better reception. As a whole am/fm radio is a good feature of D-FJ61 and you can program up to 30 radio stations on to your CD.
EASE OF USE: You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know how to use this CD player, it's pretty simple. I referred to the manual just once and that figured most of the stuff on my own.The layout of the buttons is very comfortable and easy to remember, so i can switch through radio stations, skip, pause, play or stop the songs without even looking at the CD player.
BATTERY LIFE: one of the main reasons that i like this CD player so much. The Philips CD player i had before had 12 hour battery life. This one has a 32 hr. battery life. See the difference. This one will last you 32 hours when listening to radio(listening to CD's will take the battery life a little faster). Now i switch my batteries once like in 2 weeks, even though i listen to my CD player very often(almost every day for few hours).
DURABILITY: The CD player is very durable. It survived a lot of hard falls and is still going strong. It also comes with cool safety strap that you put on your hand. Believe me, it saved my CD player from even more hard falls. The only bad thing is that the paint comes off from the buttons with time, but hey, nothing lasts forever.
In all the D-FJ61 is a must buy and you'll definitely enjoy it, just like i do. OH, i forgot to mention a G-Protection feature which literally means skip free playback. It really works. I've had it to some time now and have no complains about the G-Protection and CD player in general.
