The Bottom Line:
A great buy for anyone who needs a reliable CD/Radio player
I bought My Sony DFJ-61 Personal CD Player about a year and a half ago, and must say, I am extremely impressed.
After a year and a half this player still sounds as good as the day I bought it.
I paid 199.00 Canadian dollars from the Sony Store here in Toronto, they tried to sell me extended warranty, and I didn't, now I pat myself on the back, because I have never had a problem with this unit!
I use it every day on my commute to work and back, and it's been dropped, squished in doors, slammed against things (yes transit in Toronto can be rough) and has never so much as skipped!
The features are great, You can choose AM or FM radio, both have a seek feature on the digital tuner, and reception for the most part is good.
The CD mode has several options, such as continuous play, shuffle, or you can program the order of your tracks.
This unit also features a great Bass Boost which when used with the right music, can really enhance the music.
My favorite feature is the way that this player doesn't cost a fortune to use as it only takes 2 aa batteries, and generally 2 batteries will last me 2 weeks, using the unit approximately two and a half hours every day for both radio, and CD (about a 50/50 mix)
The unit is a little large to put in a jacket pocket, but quite small compared to most CD players.
My only complaint would be the headphones included were cheap (I have since upgraded)
When this walkman wears out (or if it ever does!) I'll gladly buy a Sony to replace it.
