Recommended it?
Yes
I have used the VX-9000E for a long time and I found it incredibly user friendly.
As a professional cameraman for ENG at first I found the weight to be a problem being used to heavier equipment but, once used to it, it was like a beautiful " toy " that produced incredible results!
The optic is stunning and the resolution is perfect.
The sound system is great with the choice of bandwidth that allows professional recording at 48 k/c and 16 bits.
The still camera capture is also invaluable when a still is needed straight away.
I cannot faulter the unit even though I have found the power lead ( inadvertently severed) cost a fair lot (# 38!).
I will always recommend it even though Sony have withdrawn it in order to sell cheaper versions, not shoulder held.
