Not a good experience

Pros Multiple formats
Cons Difficult installation Poor Software No Blank Media Need to download Driver
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Not recommended due to poor customer support and installation instruction
I purchased A Sony DRX-510UL. Installation is a nightmare if you aren't running XP or 2000.
The first problem is that the drivers and software are on a DVD. I bought this device because I didn't have a DVD so how am I expected to install the driver. Well, in real small print among the 5 languages on the instruction sheet, it mentions that with Windows 98SE you need another DVD drive or Internet connection. While on hold to Tech Support for 30 minutes, I found the driver, but couldn't download it because Sony was having some problems with their database. Tech Support refused to email me the 87KB driver and told me to just wait till the website was working. Finally, an hour later, I download the driver, but could not get the drive to install. It is an older HP Pavilion machine, P3-700Mhz, but within the Sony specs. Went to another newer machine and it installed easily with the downloaded driver when I plugged in the DVD.
One software program wouldn't install unless I wanted to remove CD Creator. The Backup program doesn't seem to recognize any network drives, which is why I bought it to do back ups of my database server files on DVD. It may be a good machine, but it has cost me a half a day just to get it installed. Now I have to go buy software that will work in a network environment. Also they don't include a blank media disk which means you can't test the unit till you run back to the store and buy blank dvd's. I like Sony products and have 2 great Vaio computers. This one I am not impressed with. Maybe this review will help those trying to install with Windows 98SE, if nothing else.
