Rock Solid DVD Burner
I like this drive. I'm not sure why the last guy gave this drive only 3 stars. I give it 4, at least. I have burned bulk non-branded DVD-RW (and repeatedly overwritten) and DVD R media that I bought from an online wholesaler and I have had almost no problems playing these DVDs in numerous other DVD... Not a good experience
I purchased A Sony DRX-510UL. Installation is a nightmare if you aren't running XP or 2000.

A great buy, A Great product, A+ so far.
I was in the market for an External DVD burner. So the research began. I needed a drive that could back up large amounts of Files on my PC, Make "Backup" copies of DVD movies, But most of all I wanted a way to create DVDs of my own Camcorder vacation tapes.

I recently picked up a toshiba laptop; most of them do not come with DVD burners (which I wanted). I looked around for an external DVD burner and found this one, but it was too expensive. Great Drive, Rotten Software
I should have waited to buy this drive. I paid way too much for it. It is exactly what I wanted, however. This burns any type of DVD or CD and works through two types of firewire interfaces as well as USB 2.0. I have USB 1 at home and it worked fine as well. I almost wish I had gotten a lower-end... Not as good as many think ! Get another product !
The SONY DVD burner is not what people expect from a good brand DVD burner. Most of the DVDs that I burned DO NOT RUN on my PC (hp pavilion 5385, Pentium IV, 2.6G,512Mb RAM, from last year...)or even on DVD players.
