Works great!
Pros
Goes from one dvd to another quickly.
Cons
22 inches deep. Bright blue light inside shines out and has no function.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Of the few multi-disc changers on the market this is top notch.
My only regret is not getting it sooner! At the time of purchase (yesterday) I had about 160 DVD's that were watched an average of 1.1 times in their lives because it is a pain to stand there swapping out DVD's in the single DVD player.
This thing sets up really easy when you attach a ps2 keyboard to it. (PS2 is the typical keyboard plugthat is about 1/4 inch round)It would probably take a lot longer trying to title the films using the remote but IS possible.
Basicly you load it up with DVD's and let it try to index the dvds. It indexed about 10% of mine with the movie title and small icon next to the title which is a photo of a scene in the movie or cd cover shot. You also have the ability to take a screenshot of anything in the movie and have it be the title icon.
The picture is great using the S-Video out. At first I used the standard audio/video out jacks and every ten or fifteen seconds the screen on my HDTV would momentarilly black out for a sub second (really annoying). I could have had a setting wrong in the setup mode though, or it could be bad electronics, I don't know. Setting it to S-Video out eliminated that though. The manual didn't have that subject in the troubleshooting section and I thought I would have to take it back but it runs perfect now and the picture is great.
Compared to Pioneer 300 disc changer this thing is about $150 cheaper and holds 100 more discs. I actually set out to buy the pioneer but it was a two year old model and this one was just released and cheaper and had good reviews at websites like this.
The unit has many functions I'll never use but the price is great and I can finally browse movies almost as quick as channel surfing.
Better make sure you can fit it somewhere as it is 22 inches deep.
