It'll hold 400 dvd's but you'll suffer for it!
Pros
Holds 400 discs, keyboard hookup, good audio & video
Cons
Bad remote, bad firmware, SLOWWW, doesn't play PAL discs! Auto play doesn't turn off!
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
It's completely worth suffering with the con's if you really want a nice safe place to store your discs where they can't get damaged and are easily accessible!
This is in no way a very technical review so it may not get the "helpful" rating, but i'll try. I bought the Sony 400 Disc DVD/CD changer about 2 months ago so I have had a little time with it to review it.
I love having all my dvd's in one place so I never have to touch them again. If anything, that is what made me purchase this. The unit is very big, bulky and heavy, but what can you expect for something that holds 400 discs. Also, in my opinion it was reasonably priced at $300.
I chose this particular changer because of a lack of better options. There doesn't seem to be a big calling for them right now. There are lots of pro's to this unit and several cons.
Pros: Holds 400 discs, you can hook up a keyboard to make entering your disc titles a breeze, good picture and audio quality and easy to set up.
Cons: DVD's autoplay and you can't change it, agonizingly slow dvd selection (as well as navigating through menus), firmware is junk, remote is very basic, doesn't play PAL dvd's, and again............ SLOW!
I'd still buy it again though, it's worth every penny to me. Perhaps someday when something better is out I will buy a new one. For now i'll suffer with the slowness just to have all of my dvd's away from little bitty fingers that like to drag them out and ruin them!
