Massive Capacity, Annoying Speed

Pros 400 disc capacity, HDMI, on screen library
Cons Slow, autoloads on power on
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you have a large collection and need to organize up to 400 discs, this is for you. Look at 5 discs otherwise
This DVD player gives off one immediate impression as soon as you see it. IT'S HUGE! The Player extends inches past the rear of the Receiver. I took my dvd collection, alphabetised it and then tossed them into the belly of the beast. I hit the load button, and WHOA, only had about 50 discs out of the 300+ that I loaded that were automatically configured. LUCKILY, the player has a PS2 input for a keyboard. The input for the titles via keyboard is quick and painless. The system even allows for you to assign a custom picture from the video itself so that you have a quick reminder of the film in case the immense machine swallows your memory.

Outputs are ABUNDANT. I use the RGB Composite connector and it's attached to my NEC overhead projector's 15 pin input configured at 137" The picture is Crisp and clean with little distortion and no annoying chapter transition problems that my Sony 5 Disc Changer had. There's an HDMI output, Svid, Yellow red + white RCA, and optical and coax audio outputs.

I immediately disliked certain things about this player. As soon as you turn it on it autoplays. The loading is VERY slow and switching from one disc to ANY other disc, even the NEXT ONE is very slow. However, the downfalls of this player are completely overshadowed by the shining advantages. I no longer have 300+ dvd cases on display. I can simply scroll through my collection, and impress people that can't believe that there's 300+ dvds in the little box on the shelf.

In any other situation, I wouldn't NEED this player, and would have stuck with the 5 disc. Unless you're a dvd collector and you NEED to start organizing your living space around your DVD cases, you're better off with something a little more simple. But this player is perfect for anyone that needs to get some room back and likes to organize things once and for all. Just don't plan on lending dvds or taking them from one room to another with out some problems with the index.
