Decent Phone, Not Great
Pros
PCS, great search, sturdy buttons
Cons
Case cracks, no ear jack, discontinued
Recommended it?
No
I have been using the dual mode 1201 for about a year now.
Strengths:
1) Good rate plan (Sprint PCS).
2) Dual mode support is a nice way to deal with lack of full PCS coverage.
3) The spinning knob is great for looking up numbers.
4) Nice firm buttons. Easy to hit, and you know when you hit them.
5) Text-messaging built in.
Weaknesses:
1) The antenna casing cracks on this phone after about 3 months.
2) Weaker coverage compared to non dual-mode phones.
3) No earphone jack (one was promised but never delivered).
4) Discontinued. I THINK Sony is discontinuing this phone. This probably makes it a poor choice for anyone right now.
