Decent Phone, Not Great
I have been using the dual mode 1201 for about a year now.
Strengths:
1) Good rate plan (Sprint PCS).
2) Dual mode support is a nice way to deal with lack of full PCS coverage.
3) The spinning knob is great for looking up numbers.
4) Nice firm buttons. Easy to hit, and you...

High quality, rugged, basic dual-mode mobile phone
The Sony CM-M1300 is a high quality, rugged, easy to use, dual-mode (analog and CDMA digital) mobile phone. I've had mine for about two years, and it still looks and works like new. It's a basic phone without internet support.
I don't know if it's true, but I've been told that Sony is no...

Feature-rich, but bulky
I've had my Sony CM-M1300 since Christmas of '98, and overall it has been a very reliable, useful phone. The screen is large, backlit, and easy to read with four LCD text lines, which could be useful if you are signed up for digital paging service. The phone supports both CDMA and AMPS signals, so... We're gonna miss ya', old gal
You've served us well for nearly four years now, 'ole Sony. Your batteries seemed never to die; you were built like iron. Even today, you stand ready to receive and send calls with the best of them. Only the fickle preferences of a fourteen-year-old girl have done you in. Her friends make fun of... Read full review »
Reliable cell
I first got this phone when my Nokia was stolen over 2 years ago, and Verizon didn't offer a Nokia in my area. When I first got it, I was a little taken aback by the weight and bulk of it, but after seeing how easy it was to navigate, I really fell in love with it.
The jog-dial is a great...

It still gets the job done!
My family recently got a cell phone stolen, so I dug this one out of the closet and got it re-activated. Sure, its almost 2 years old (with about 1-1/2 years of heavy use), but the phone works almost as well as it did when we first got it activated. I've seen plenty of phones that have taken abuse... Did I hear..Easy to use...?
SONY CM-M1300
This is a poor excuse for a good cellular phone. If it was modified it would be a great phone. Right off the bat the HORRIBLE thing about it is the Jog-Dial, It will litterally drive you crazy. The jog-dial is so confusing to use. Sometimes I'll be driving in the car talking and I...

Great phone
I just reactivated my Sony cm-m1300 phones. I had been convinced by a salesperson to "upgrade" to Nokia 5180. What a piece of junk!!!! My calls were constantly being dropped. Apparently my town is still behind the times and is mainly analog. Whenever that Nokia went from a digital area to analog... Read full review »
takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'
I've had my Sony phone for over a year now and I've used and abused it. I carry it everywhere and don't pay quite enough attention to where I put it. It's taken several falls from nearly 6 feet, but this thing is rock solid. I haven't had one single problem with it yet.
This is a small,...

Good value, small annoyances.
I bought my Sony CM-M3300 phone because it was one of the specials PrimeCo was offering at the time I decided to buy a cellular phone. It is a dual-mode phone, meaning it will operate on both analog and digital cell networks.
The sound clarity is good when in the digital network, but if I...
