Great phone if you can find one
Pros
Durable
Cons
Obsolete - repair parts hard to get
Recommended it?
Yes
This phone is out of production - so I'm not sure why it's on epinions - but it's still out there and still being used.
I've had mine for about three years now - never had any trouble with it even though I've dropped the thing numerous times.
Batteries seem to last a long time, even if I talk a lot, and the fact it is both digital & analog means it works almost anywhere, unlike the PCS phone I had for awhile.
It has a huge address book in it - I've never filled it up. It's something over 100 entries.
Sometimes the signal strength indicated is deceptively high - I've been places where it said I had 2 or 3 bars out of a possible 5 in terms of signal strength - and I haven't been able to talk effectively. I can hear the other person just fine - but I keep being told that I'm "breaking up". This may be due to the fact I had the stubby compact antenna on it. The original long antenna didn't have any such problems.
These phones, and the accessories for them, are available cheap on Ebay - I bought one for $11 last week, and they originally sold for $200+. If you sign up for phone service where you don't get a phone for free, you might look into getting one of these.
