Cool pocket phone - Ericsson T18s
Pros
Small, voice recognition, active flip
Cons
Tiny LCD, poor battery life
Recommended it?
Yes
I get through mobile phones at the rate of one every nine months or so, and the T-18 compares very well with others on most points.
I love the voice recognition dialling, not because it is quicker than traditional speed dialling (it isn't), but simply because it is so cool. The best point for me is the size as this 'phone can fit in a shirt pocket, particularly if you leave off the optional belt clip.
The active flip protects the keypad well and prevents accidental dialling which can be very embarrassing! It also allows you to take and end calls without touching the keys. It is a robust little phone and has so far survived a few droppings.
Ericsson supply a good selection of accessories for this model, and the in-car unit allows for charging on the move, and totally hands free operation, at around $50. Great for roadwarriors with licences to keep safe!
The keypad is really small, which you expect from such a tiny phone, and the LCD display is not really very good if you do a lot of text messaging. The biggest drawback for me so far is the battery life. It is substandard, and although it can stretch to a couple of days, it will give out pretty quick if you use a lot of talktime.
