?Absence makes the heart grow fonder?, some philosophers say. In an advanced world such as the one we live in today, we have prepared ourselves for the absence of someone and emergencies by the development of many excellent ways of communication. The primitive phone was invented as early as 1876,... Read full review »

Summary: The T18 is a compact phone with all the features that the average cellphone user needs. Cool pocket phone - Ericsson T18s

bygollygumdrops Jun 4, 2000

Pros Small, voice recognition, active flip
Cons Tiny LCD, poor battery life
Recommended it? Yes

I get through mobile phones at the rate of one every nine months or so, and the T-18 compares very well with others on most points.

I love the voice recognition dialling, not because it is quicker than traditional speed dialling (it isn't), but simply because it is so cool. The best point... Read full review »

Pros Small, lightweight, voice dialing
Cons Address book poor, reception poor

I bought this phone to replace my Motorola Startac 75 (I liked that phone).
I wasn't too sure what phone to get and this was one of the smallest ones at the time and seemed to have the features I wanted so I bought it.

At first the phone seemed good, it has some neat features such as... Read full review »

Pros Small size, voice recognition, active flip, vibrating alert
Cons Tricky menu structure, bad key design, aerial housing, battery problems

I bought my Ericsson T18s as a replacement phone in the UK from high street retailer Carphone Warehouse. I'd previously been using a free Philips Diga pay as you go freebie phone from my bank as a student account offer, and whilst it had been handy, it wasn't exactly an easily carried phone. I was... Pros Just the right size, some nice touches
Cons Occasional lock up problems
Recommended it? Yes

I've been using my T18s for over a year now, essentially a replacement phone for my old Nokia which finally gave up the ghost after being dropped one time too often.

What initially attracted me to the Ericsson was the battery life, I'm one of those people who would forget his head if it... Read full review »

Pros Nice menu layout, small enough, flip-answering, vibrate function
Cons The software is bugged, not very durable, poor battery life, annoying flashing light

On upgrading from the Ericsson A1018s I was impressed. The phone was small, it had all the same features and then some more. I was happy. The screen is small, but not too small, I found the text to be easily readable and in an attractive font. I truly thought this would be the phone for me.

I bought Ericsson T-18s because I wanted a mobile phone which was portable and which I could use even at gatherings without disturbing anyone. It's really been a 'darling' of a phone to me. Pros sleek, does its job, light
Cons keypad not to hand friendly

I live in the Philippines, and cellular phone technology here is more advanced than that in America. The T-18s is almost obsolete here, and new models have been released to replace it. However, just because it is an old model doesnt mean it is a bad model.

If what you look for in a... Read full review »

This phone is nice and small, but the buttons are not at all fiddly which is very good......I haven't got around to setting up all the voice activated features, but I do appreciated the voice activated answering or rejecting feature, as I have a month old baby, and it means I can have my hands free...
