I hope you live close to a service center...
Pros
Lots of nice features.
Cons
Horrible overall quality.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Good features aren't worth the poor product quality.
I had switched from my Nokia 5160 (that I'd had for 2 years) to this phone because of the many features it offers. What I found was that the product quality is terrible and doesn't make it worth the features it provides. (See negatives)
Positives:
- Size -
The form factor is good. The phone is a big weighty, but not overburdening.
- Features -
T9 predictive text input for any text field is very useful, especially when entering in names. The voice command was useful with a few names recorded.
- Address Book -
Finally, a phone that uses the "Contact" model, where every name can have more than 1 contact number (e.g. home, mobile, etc.)
Negatives:
- Voice Control -
Once I added many (more than 3) or similar names, it didn't work as well - it was unable to find a match. Strangely, the names recorded were pretty poor quality as well, even in a completely quiet room.
- Quality -
I've had 3 phones in 7 months that failed. The first failed after 2 months by draining every battery I put in it within a couple of hours, even without using any talk time.
The second phone failed after 3 more months when it suddenly would only operate in headset mode, and even there I wasn't able to actually talk (though I could hear callers).
The third one failed a month later, when the keypad stopped functioning.
Also, in the last 6 months I've gone through 2 OEM faceplates, as the tab on the top that holds the phone on gets broken if you use the OEM holster.
