The Bottom Line:  If you need a cell phone that has a lot of capabilities, but want it to be relatively inexpensive, look no further.
Back in June, I bought the Ericsson T60LX cell phone. For about 8 months before that, I owned the Ericsson T19LX cell phone, which was EXTREMELY basic. I was looking for something that had a few more capabilities, and since I like Ericsson, I decided to stick with the brand and just get a more advanced phone. AT&T (my wireless provider) had this phone in stock, and from looking at the picture and reading about the phone, I decided to go for it and buy it. I have not been disappointed.

As you can see from its picture, the T60LX is a unique-looking phone. It's very sleek and easily fits into the palm of my hand. The screen is A LOT larger than the screen of my previous phone, so that was a HUGE plus. I'm able to change the main screen's background with any of the pictures available in the Display menu (right now I have a fish on my main screen).

In terms of what's included in the phone, I'd say this phone has a lot of cool features. It's easy to add numbers and information in the Phonebook, and it allows you to store several numbers for the same person, plus their e-mail address and their full name. The Phonebook can be sorted alphabetically either by first name or last name, whichever you choose. It's very easy to navigate through the Phonebook to get to any number; plus, the phone includes Speed Dial and Super Speed Dial options, which allow you to call a particular number by only pressing one key. Another cool feature is that you can call someone via the Voice Tag feature. You can speak a person's name into the phone and the phone will dial the number corresponding to that person.

In terms of text messaging, I'm not a huge fan of text messaging, so I do it rarely. This phone allows you to write text messages AND e-mails to people, as well as chat with other people. Like I said, I haven't really used these features, so I can't go into any detail about how solid these features are.

You can keep track of your calls through the Call Info menu. It lets you see the numbers that you have called and that have called your phone (in chronological order starting with the most recent at the top), plus it allows you to keep track of your minutes.

One of my favorite things about this phone is that you can give personalized rings to anyone on your Phonebook. I have a song that plays when one friend calls, another song when another friend calls, etc., so I know who's calling even before I look at the screen. It's VERY convenient if I happen to be far away from my phone and helps me decide whether I should rush over to the phone and answer it if someone specific calls. There are lots of song choices on this phone, plus, you can create your own songs using the keypad and save them as "my melodies".

This phone also allows you to forward or restrict calls, change the display, language, lighting, text size, user greeting, and several other things. Plus, you can enable the Auto Keylock feature, which is a savior for me. Whenever my phone is in my bag, it has a habit of pressing along other things in my bag, causing unintentional presses of the buttons, including a few accidental calls to people. With the Auto Keylock feature, the keypad locks itself after 30 seconds of non-use, and it's easy to unlock the keys.

Under the Extras menu, there are a few nice goodies in here. This phone functions as my alarm clock every morning, and you can pick what song plays as the "alarm". There are also four games included: Ballpop, Erix, Emaze, and Contrary. There's also a full-function Calendar where you can keep track of any future appointments, and there's a Calculator as well. Finally, you can list any functions as "Shortcuts" in the "My Shortcuts" menu.

I've been very pleased with the battery life of this phone. I've been able to use this phone relatively often and not have to charge the battery for a few days before the battery runs out.

Now for the negative aspects of the phone:

1) The buttons are kind of small. My fingers aren't large, so it's not a total problem for me, but I can see how it can be a pain for some people because the buttons ARE smallish and close together, causing unintentional presses of other buttons.

2) The Call Waiting feature is annoying. This was the only feature where my old phone was actually better. My old phone allowed for me to press just one button to switch between calls. On this phone, you can press one button to answer another call, but when you want to go back to the earlier call, you have to go through the menu of options using your "joystick" and select the choice allowing you to go back to the previous call. I can't tell you how many calls I've ended unintentionally because I got confused with all the buttons I'm supposed to press. Oh well, hopefully one day I'll get the hang of it.

Overall, for $99, this phone gives you a lot of bang for your buck. It's not web-enabled, but I don't really need Web access on my phone, so that's not a problem for me. Other than that, the vast amount of capabilities in this phone would have led me to believe that this phone is a lot more expensive than it actually is. I hope that those of you who choose to buy it like it as much as I do.
