Still a great buy after 2 Years!!
Pros
Great picture and sound! Takes 1080i signals to perfection!
Cons
$3600 when they first came out. Get a 1080p set for about half now.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Sony tech is amazing. Right in line with their products over the years. I highly recommend this or any newer set they make!!
Bought in summer of '05. Have not had to replace the bulb yet. Both wife and I work, so it gets used for evenings mostly and weekends. Excellent picture still. Figured out it is in between 720P and 1080i. I was discouraged to find out later it was not a 1080p set. Being one of the first to buy this TV and learning at the same time. The picture is outstanding for Discovery channel and I had been worried about Sports events, but it does just fine.
We sit about 9.5 ft away and images look very crisp as the first day it was turned on. There are still a lot of Standard definition shows we watch and the TV does well with them. I use the Standard settings with Warm look to the colors and everything looks pretty good. I am anxious to see how it does with a Blue Ray or Hi Def DVD. Lot of factors involved to make any TV look good. This one and the Brand will always do well for me with features and ease of controls and etc. If any are left, probably could pick these up for a bargain. I think only 1080p sets are all there is by now.
