Compact Sound System with Decent HTIB Features

Good For: Small Rooms, Home

The Sony HT-CT100 is a great home theater in a box (HTIB) system for those of you who:

have limited room
want a good value system without spending a ton of cash
don't want to deal with too much wire clutter

The unit comes with a single soundbar that hooks up to a subwoofer unit that also houses the home theater electronics. The subwoofer unit supports 3 HDMI inputs. I use it to connect my HD Tivo, Xbox 360, and PS3 to my TV.

Sound
Sound is decent from this unit. It's got more than enough power for my small room (around 400 square feet), but I'm rarely able to get surround effects due to a sub-optimal room layout.

Verdict
For the price, the system is a good value for those who want better sound than standard TV speakers. There are also enough features and connectivity for this to serve as a decent hub for your home theater components.
