Excellent camcorder. Great daylight results
Pros
Excellent results in daylight. One of the best HD camcorders.
Cons
Noisy low light footage on Auto mode.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
A great camcorder for home movies, but not for professionals looking for more manual control and broadcast quality.
This camcorder is excellent. It captures very life like daylight footage, and, as long as you use Twilight or Portrait mode, relatively noise free low light images. Noise only starts appearing in low light if you keep it in Auto mode.
Although not quite professional quality, the footage this baby captures is light years ahead of typical low end MiniDV camcorders - you would expect this considering you're spending about a grand on this piece of equipment.
To look at this camcorder is compact, stylish and sexy. It looks at it's best when it's docked to your computer and you can see its left side.
You can capture up to 8 hours of highest quality video on the camcorder's 60 gb hard drive. I would suggest you always capture at the highest quality setting for the best results.
You can also take 6 mega pixel photographs with this camcorder. The results are probably as good as a typical mid range digital camera of the same resolution.
This is one of the best high definition options out there, until the SR12 comes out that is. As long as you remember to switch to the Twilight mode in low light conditions, you're sorted.
