I received the Sony TRV310 Digital Handycam for Christmas. I used to film movies on a regular 8mm camera and now that I film on a Digital Camera the sound and picture quality in my movies has become much richer. But I didn't just throw my old movies away. Because of the camera's unique input system, movies on VHS, 8mm, and Hi8 can all be transferred to a Digital Tape in the Camera. You can even record your favorite TV shows on to the camera.
The effects on this camera are amazing. There is night shot, a capability that allows you to shoot video in a zero light condition. The Digital Effects can let you make a professional effects like slow shutter, still, lumi, flash, and old movie effect. And if you want to send pictures over the Internet you are in luck. The Digital Video Camera also doubles as a Still Camera. And on a signal tape , 700 images can be stored.
Maybe your don't like squinting into a view finder. That sure is hard when your filming while moving. The LCD screen allows you to make sure you get the whole picture. Once you've shot your movies you can watch them on the camera's 3.5 inch LCD screen which has adjustable volume and brightness control. The screen can also rotate 180 degrees so you can film yourself.
One of the biggest hardships facing camcorder owners is running out of battery power. Sony's infolithium system displays how many minutes worth of power the battery is holding. And with the compatible NP-950 battery, you can film for ten strait hours without charging.
Just when I thought this camera could not get any better it did. On top of the camera there is a intelligent accessory shoe. This system allows you to attach components like night shot enhancing lights and microphones that automatically respond to the zoom of the camera.
You can also edit your movies on your home computer if you have a fire wire port that is connected into the camera's iLink port. Then once the Movies has been edited, you can put the final cut back on to the camera. With iLink there is no loss of quality.( I suggest Apple's program imovie)
After that the movie can be put on to a VHS tape and given to friends or relatives.
This camera is definitely worth the price. With this camera, Sony has taken Home Videos to a higher level.
