The Bottom Line:
If you want professional quality in a small easy to use camcorder this is your camera.
The Sony Handycam HDR-HC7 camcorder is the best I have owned. The quality of the image that is recorded on here is by far the best out there. It is clean and cut. Awesome. I used it for birthdays and sports game, since I am a coach. Even in the least lit areas the camcorder still recorder quite clean and it was useable film to do stats. Also you can be recording and if you want to take a still image you can, if you have an SD card it takes the picture right to card without stopping the recording session. The picture quality is very good not the best, but what do you expect from a camcorder. If you want quality picture images use a camera, just like if you want high quality film you won't use a camera or camera phone to record it. Another thing is that this is a mini dv camera so it records to a tape not to a hard drive or SD card. Reason I bought it with mini dv is because hard drive wasn’t quite up to my standards and sd was to small but now it’s in its 2nd generation so you might want to consider those if you don’t like having media around, which I don’t so I will be updating soon to a new one.
