The Bottom Line:
If you enjoy clear music in the shower, buy it. If your kid just wants some music once in a while in the tub, I'd go for a cheapo.
After trying 2 cheap shower radio models, I wish I had just gone after this one from the beginning. I forget the first brand but it was an analog (dial tuner) am/fm and it had a mirror for shaving. I liked the mirror, but avoid the dial tuner at all costs, they are way too hard to fine tune and the frequencies are not accurately placed on the dial. When that ceased to operate, I put it on my Christmas list. I received a JWIN radio/cd player. It was the biggest piece of junk. I tried it for one shower and packed it back up. Same dial tuner, tinny sound, awful controls and it didn't seem too water proof.
So after some research, I sent away for the Sony, couldn't find it in any stores locally. Extremely pleased with the purchase. Great sound, clear display, simple controls, quality material. It has 10fm, 5am, 5tv and 5 weather presets....more than enough for any radio, never mind a shower radio. The only dial is for the volume and that works out fine, all other controls are the rubberized push buttons on the top. It has a clock, an alarm, and an auto-shutoff feature (60,45,30,20,10minutes). It has very clear reception due to a wire antenna you can stick to your shower wall with included suction cup. Can be placed on flat surface or hung with included rope. Runs on 3 C batteries.
It's a bit pricey at $55 delivered from Amazon but I think it's the last shower radio I'll buy for a long, long time. I even used it when I was working outside the house and it worked fine as a little portable radio.
