I debated a long time and went into the box stores a dozen times to compare models and DLP, LCD and Plasma. Current technology is fantastic but if you haven't bought a TV in a while, you will experience "Sticker Shock" Get over it and take a leap into a mesmorizing viewing experience. Basically, I went from the Mitsubishi 62" DLP to the Hitachi 60" LCD to finally the Sony 60" LCD. All were comparable and you wouldn't have made a bad choice in any model. But in the end the best choice ended up being the Sony KDF-E60A20. It's a wonderful TV and with the cablecard the image cleared up quite a bit. Analog tv leaves a lot to be desired, the image is a lot better than you would think. Digital images are much better and finally HD will blow you away! Even watching a boring cooking show on HD will hyptnotize you. You can't look away, I'm serious. I don't regret purchasing this TV and I look forward to outstanding sporting events and even the occasional cooking show in HD.
